Oratio

Terms of use

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These terms apply to the Oratio app and the website oratio.day (together, “Oratio”), operated by Manuel Montiel, an individual based in Mexico (“we”). By using Oratio you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Oratio.

1. What Oratio is

Oratio helps you pray every day, read Scripture and learn to explain the Christian faith with gentleness and respect. The content is educational and devotional. It does not replace your church, pastoral guidance, or professional medical, psychological or legal advice. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

2. Your account

You can use Oratio without an account. If you sign in with Apple, you are responsible for the activity of your account. You must be at least 13 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country. You can delete your account at any time from the app.

3. Subscriptions

4. Invitations

The invitation program is governed by the invitation rules. Rewards are delivered as Apple offer codes, have no cash value and may not be sold or transferred.

5. AI practice

Oratio Pro includes conversations with an artificial intelligence that plays a respectful skeptic so you can practice. The AI can make mistakes and its replies do not represent Oratio's views or the teaching of any church. Do not rely on it for professional advice. Do not share sensitive personal information in these conversations. Use is subject to a monthly fair-use limit. See How we use AI.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Oratio to harass, threaten or insult anyone, to post or generate hateful, violent, sexual or illegal content, to attack any religion or group, to attempt to break or overload the service, to manipulate the invitation program, or to extract content in bulk. We have zero tolerance for abusive content and may suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Content and intellectual property

The app, its design, illustrations, devotionals, answers and texts belong to Oratio or its licensors. You may share content using the sharing features of the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. The Bible texts we use, the World English Bible and the Reina-Valera 1909, are in the public domain. Your journal entries belong to you.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep Oratio available and accurate, but we provide it “as is”, without warranties of uninterrupted operation or of fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. We may update features and these terms; if a change is material, we will let you know in the app.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Oratio in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

10. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Oratio or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims related to Oratio. If Oratio fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and are not on any U.S. list of prohibited parties.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Questions: [email protected].
